Capricorn Full Moon Lunar Eclipse 2019 – Dig Deep to Climb Higher

Astrology with Guru Rattana

As the light of the full moon disappears at the eclipse, and we adjust to the silent darkness, we can get in touch with emotions begging for attention and recognize habitual patterns that have previously escaped our awareness.

July 16: Capricorn Lunar Eclipse/Full Moon

(24º Capricorn-Cancer) 2:38 PM PDT

Capricorn is hard working, dedicated to making a difference, focused on achieving its goals, and methodically working its way up the mountain of life. At this lunar eclipse, our attention is introspective. We are being directed to examine where we are going and why. We feel the need to question if the stress that we are imposing upon ourselves is worth it. We made be lead to redefine what we are striving for.

In 2020 three major planetary alignments introduce new cycles in our personal and collective lives. 2019 is about letting go of the past to make room for the future.

Five Retrograde Planets Direct Us to Dig Deep

The Capricorn lunar eclipse happens while Mercury, Jupiter, Saturn, Neptune, and Pluto are all retrograde. Eclipses plus retrograde activity help us discover what is lurking in the background that must be dealt with.

Can you feel that something significant is happening? We need to be present in subtle feeling awareness in order to understand the profundity of the profound interventions that are influencing us. We have to let go of something to make room for the new.

We are approaching a significant turning point – a new beginning – in our lives. It is wise (actually imperative) to dig deep to determine what may be holding us back, and if we are even pointed in the right direction. Are we climbing our own mountain or someone else’s idea of what we should do or an idealized fantasy of what we wish our lives were like? These are pivotal questions that we must address, as we rethink our future goals and aspirations.

To move forward, we must examine our past and detach from the beliefs, cords, and interpretations that limit our present and future.

Capricorn and Saturn demand that we be pragmatic and realistic.

Pluto requires that we address core issues and be impeccably honest with ourselves.

Jupiter invites us to go forward into the unknown future instead clinging to the past.

Neptune helps us trust that there is a pathway through every problem, which is facilitated by letting go of the way we think or want things to be.

Mercury advises us to get in touch with and speak our truth, starting with being honest with ourselves.

Retrogrades Slow Things Down

Progress may appear to be slow, but energies are shifting below the surface. We can experience significant transformation when we stick with it and carefully review the present in light of a deeper understanding of the patterns that we formed in childhood.

Retrogrades can create distortions and disruptions, which are not meant to annoy, but to uncover what is not how it appears. Old dynamics are playing out that we need to seriously look at. The programs that are demanding closer examination help us clarify our own needs and pay attention to the needs of others. If we want to make our needs known, we have to know what they are. And we have to let others honor their needs without our interference.

Retrograde planets bring delays, but waiting is not for wasting. Waiting time is for being realistic, patient, and paying attention. Realizations and shifted circumstances create openings for a revitalized future. If we can relax enough to not be defensive and reactive, we can be kind to others and ourselves. We can move through the mud and density of physical reality and find clarity and purpose in our life challenges.

North Node in Cancer

The North Node (what we are all working on) in Cancer directs us to examine family patterns that create dependence, control, interference, and alienation when maintained in adulthood. For example, the oldest child has been trained to be a caretaker and responsible for everyone. A younger child may experience that his or her life was and is being interfered with by a surrogate parent (instead of an equal sibling).

We find freedom when we release the emotional entanglements that weigh on everyone concerned. The caretaker child (now adult) will be relieved of the burdens of taking responsibility for others. The younger child(ren) (now adult(s) will feel free to be themselves and to direst their own lives.

Saturn, Pluto, South Node in Capricorn

The zodiac pair Cancer and Capricorn interact and collaborate at this eclipse. The North Node is in Cancer (just 7 degrees from the Sun.) The South Node and Saturn are conjunct and just 5 degrees away from Pluto — all in Capricorn.

Saturn and Pluto remain close to the South Node in Capricorn, reminding us that we have to go deep to access patterns and imprints we have collected from childhood traumas, family and ancestral patterns, and the collective consciousness.

Nothing escapes the keen eye and goal keeper Saturn, which points out what is out of place, what needs more attention, and what demands more care.

Through spring of 2020, Saturn, Pluto, and the South Node in Capricorn will continue to pressurize us to free ourselves of past programming and toxic memories so we can consciously be our own authority.

We Can Liberate Ourselves

We can liberate ourselves only when we shift out of seeing our life through the eyes of a victim. Free will gives us the choice on how we respond to our life challenges. Saturn and Capricorn lead us to maturity by developing autonomy, responsibility, and integrity.

This and the previous solar eclipse bring into awareness what we need to face and address that is out of alignment. Many false and unworkable concepts are being exposed. This lunar eclipse also opens the space for us to change perspectives of how we experience life.

Can we shift from denial to accepting what is happening? Can we view life events as purposeful ways to help (oblige) us to transform and awaken? Can we transcend blame games and illusions about how life plays out? Seeing our challenges as opportunities rather than an obstacles gives us a lifeline to transform suffering and helplessness into empowerment and personal freedom.

When we let go of the way we want things to be, we open the space for the truth and reality to present themselves. Intuitive insight and empathic understanding are gifts from these eclipses. They bring to the surface inconvenient truths that demand radical honesty.

Venus and the North Node closely aligned with in Cancer, tell us that the best way to let go of blame, shame, guilt, and self-doubt is to love and accept ourselves and our life the way it is. We are reminded that whatever the question, Love is always the answer. To find out for yourself, open your heart to your soul and embrace the precious gift of your life. Looking for a miracle? This is it!

Kriya to Adjust the Magnetic Field around 4th and 5th Chakras

This meditation works on the heart and throat chakras. It helps us know and speak our truth and to move into our heart by clearing the imprints held in the electromagnetic field around the 4th and 5th chakras. As you focus on the space between the hands, you will feel a sense of clarity and purity building, clearing the space for your heart will open to yourself.

Sit in Virasan, with the left heel in the perineum, but alternatively under the left buttocks. A cushion or other prop under the left buttocks makes it easier to hold the position. The right foot is flat on the ground in front of the body. Keep your spine perfectly straight.

To find the correct hand position, press the hands on their respective ears, with fingers and thumbs extended and joined, pointing straight up exactly perpendicular to the ground, and keep them in flat planes.

Then slowly pull the hands out in a perfectly straight line with the elbows about 5-8″ (13 – 20 cm) away from the ears, but directly opposite them. Hold the pose without movement for the entire meditation.

Holding this position, inhale deeply, hold the breath in for 3-4 seconds, then completely exhale and hold the breath out for 3-4 seconds, focusing the eyes at the tip of the nose. Continue for 11 minutes.

When done, sit in easy pose or lie down on your back and feel the space in and around your heart and upper chest. Enjoy.
