Singh Kaur had that rare quality of voice that touched hearts everywhere. After many years of singing and performing with the Khalsa String Band, Peace Lagoon became her debut solo album, recorded largely in a trailer in the summer of 1979, during Women's Training Camp at Espanola, New Mexico.
Peace Lagoon is the name of a Sikh prayer (Sukhmani Sahib). This prayer was translated into English and published, along with other translated Sikh scripture, in a book also entitled Peace Lagoon. Sukhmani Sahib is one of the most oft-recited prayers among Sikhs, and it is believed that the recitation of it, in any language, will bring peace to everyone.
This CD captures the essence of that time period of innocence and hopeful abandon, when many tossed aside their previous identities, left their names, families, haircuts and colorful clothing to start on a journey towards the Aquarian Age.

The late Singh Kaur (Lorellei), well-respected and loved by the Kundalini Yoga community, was a singer-composer-arranger of rare magnitude. She possessed both a keen compositional mind and a soothing, crystal clear voice, which both uplifted and inspired. It still does!
